A Holistic Approach to Ending Bible Poverty in Deaf Communities
Abstract
A linguistic phenomenon has been silently destroying people’s lives: Language Deprivation Syndrome occurs when a child is not exposed to language in early childhood. Only about 98% of the 34 million deaf children worldwide have access to a signed language. This paper examines how the BT community must address this crisis, including partnerships with language development initiatives and scripture engagement resources for language-deprived individuals.
