Abstract

The ETEN partners have observed a lack of clear perspective and limited tools for determining the scope of multilingualism in a community and the degree to which it sets parameters for Scripture use and Bible translation. This paper introduces a simple inter-organizational assessment tool designed to fill this gap.

About the Author

Jaap Feenstra grew up in a bilingual community in the Netherlands. He worked in sub-arctic Canada, in a community-owned BT project. He has served as the ‘executive sponsor’ for A Guide for Planning the Future of Our Language. Currently he serves as overall leader and promoter for Taste&See and as is SIL liaison with Global Partnerships.
