Commentary-writing training as a way to build up translator's competence

Commentary-writing training focuses not on the translated text itself but on the cognitive process of translators and how they can use appropriate translation strategies for the intended purpose and audience. This paper proposes that translation commentary-writing training could be added to Bible translator training to build competency.
