Comparison of Automatic Alignment Engines on Complete Bible Translations

Six alignment engines (5 statistical, 1 hybrid) were used to align 13 complete Bible translations from 6 different languages. IBM-4 had the highest F-score, precision, and recall of statistical aligners. ClearEngine had similar F-scores but higher precision. This paper reports comparative results and implications for field use.
