The Translation Project Management Plan (PMP): a global innovating tool

Different communities and individuals have different expectations regarding a quality-driven Bible translation — what are some of the significant challenges? How can they be overcome? In addition, global institutions have prompted new ways of working, including technology and innovation.

Acceleration and innovation-driven translation are necessary. In response, it intends to deepen our understanding of translation principles and practices followed by translation practitioners from different backgrounds globally to improve quality products. The Project Management Plan (PMP) is a "living document" that charts the project's path with a specific mission and vision. In addition, project management has administrative guideline documentation: research and development documents, independent contract agreements, a translation brief, an introductory preface, style guide questionnaires and template, book introductions, grammar and spelling reviews, and consultant checking. Project plans include innovative checks on oral testing, pre-typeset draft reviews, and post-typeset proofread.

This paper explores the guiding principles, goals, and underlying assumptions of the PMP, communication plan, weekly status reporting, change management plan, risk management, and training plan through technology and innovation. The goal of the PMP aims to take beginners in Bible translation on a professional development pathway to become competent translation project team members.
